21st Annual Holiday Classic Rugby Tournament

This Saturday, November 11th, will mark Chico Rugby’s 21st Annual Holiday Classic Rugby Tournament. This tournament is the longest running rugby tournament on the West Coast. (not 100% confirmed, but challenge anyone to correct?)

This year’s event will be held at Pleasant Valley High School. The first-round matches will kick off bright and early at 9:00am! There will be 8 of the top men’ teams in Northern California and 4 women’s teams that would give anyone a run for their money. Highlighted by the Chico State Women, nationally ranked each year, forever!!! 

Here’s a list of the teams participating: In the men’s division, Chico Mighty Oaks, Colusa Rugby Football Club, Sacramento Capitals RFC, Vacaville Black Dog Rugby Club, Reno Zephyr’s Rugby Club, Bay Area Baracus Rugby Football Club, Sacramento Black Hawk Rugby Cub and Life West Gladiators. For the women we will have Chico State Women Wildcats, Colusa Women Rugby Football Club, Humboldt State University Women Ruggers and the Triple Threat Traveling Rugby Football Club. Tournament schedule below.

It’s going to be a great day of rugby!! In addition, we will be honoring our countries veterans as this Saturday is also Veteran’s Day. This year’s tournament shirts, always a hit, will have a special Veteran’s day theme, so come out pick up a shirt and watch some great rugby!!!
